Expedition

Airborne Ranger Club of Finland aims to climb Mount Everest in spring 2009. When succeeding the expedition is the first completely finnish expedition which has summited the highest mountain in the world. The biggest challenge will be the human fysiology, i.e. the ability to adjust to the extreme conditions. The continuous exertion and hardship lasting around two months puts also the mental persistense in to the test. The medical doctor, apart from being the member of the expedition, undertakes medical research about human capacity in extreme conditions and tests the gear of finnish manufacturers.

Prerequisite for succeeding is detailed planning and maintaining the individual performance. Team working skills are put into a test since every memeber of the expedition needs to perform well for success. Safety of the members will not be compromised in any situation. With it's work the expedition wants to bring up finnish sisu and perseverance. With careful preparation, gaining needed knowledge and with strong will there is a change to reach to the top.
